BOTTLE FREE BAND CONTEST

How would you use the green tour grant to make your tour green and reduce bottled water waste?

The largest portion of the grant would go towards streamlining our touring process, as we are a six person band with two crew members traveling to over 100 shows per year, many of which are at mid-size clubs. Finding sustainable transportation and communicating with club promoters about how to minimize waste at our shows strike us as initial priorities.

How do you encourage your fans to take on more sustainable habits?

We have a close connection with our audience and very active Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts. The band also has an email list that is over 10,000 subscribers. Nicki and the band also hang out at their merch table after every single show--not only to sell merchandise---but to hang out and connect with their fans. We have worked with other brands, supported other causes and it feels like when Nicki shares this with her fans there is always a big response because of the original connection with the music and live shows.
