How would you use the green tour grant to make your tour green and reduce bottled water waste?

"I drive a 1990 Ford E-350 bio-diesel van on which I've installed a solar panel that provides 1500w of pure clean solar power. The van is my mobile solar-powered studio, but can also act as a solar generator for live shows. If we won the Brita/REVERB Green Grant, we would use it to locate and fund my bio-diesel stops along the way and possibly do a veggie-oil conversion to my alternate fuel tank. We would potentially purchase another solar generator for the purpose of powering the shows using 100% solar energy whenever possible, as well as making all my CDs using recycled materials, soy-based inks, etc. "

How do you encourage your fans to take on more sustainable habits?

"Since 80% of the environmental impact from the music biz is often from fans driving miles and miles to see their favorite bands, we would encourage our fans (through my website, concert promotions, discount ticket incentives) to carpool and/or bicycle to the shows. We would also like to rent eco-shuttles in each town to pick up concertgoers from designated areas and take them to the show, which would not only greatly decrease environmental impact, but would help prevent drunk driving accidents. "
