How would you use the green tour grant to make your tour green and reduce bottled water waste?

The grant would enable us to perform and spread our green message to a larger audience by helping to pay for travel and lodging costs to perform at venues in a large metro area other than our local performing area.Since our instruments and devices are all made from repurposed materials saved from the garbage dump, our message about recycling and reuse is already built-in. Every performance includes mention of cool recycling facts and suggestions, and at many gigs, we include hand-on demos of our instruments and an instrument making table that uses repurposed items for the audience to play along. Our tip jar is a recycling bin, and often ends up with plastic bottles in it along with money!

How do you encourage your fans to take on more sustainable habits?

Because of our built-in message, our fans are already aware of sustainability issues. We can work with our nearly 1,200 fans on facebook, our 1,200 twitter followers, and the 2,000 plus fans on our email list, and our current newspaper, magazine, and television friends.
