50 Tons of Thanks for Your Efforts for the Earth

As part of Brita^®’s partnership with Preserve’s Gimme 5, a program which collects and transforms Brita filters and other
#5 plastic items into 100 percent recycled household consumer goods, we want to say thank you!

Do you know how much waste your #5 recycling efforts have kept out of landfills this past year? 50 tons or 100,000 lbs. of recycled yogurt cups, Brita^® filters, cottage cheese containers and countless other #5 plastic packages have stayed out of landfills because of YOU. That’s the equivalent of 500,000 Brita^® Filters, 6.4 million Stonyfield yogurt containers or 1.3 million Tom’s of Maine deodorant containers.

In 2010 Preserve has received more than double the amount of #5 plastics received in 2009. Not only have these items stayed out of landfills, but they have also helped Preserve make great new products out of them.
